Mating leopards, a very rare sight, Okavango Delta, Botswana
We were lucky to see this mating pair of leopards over two successive evenings. The female takes the lead in this yearly ritual, rousing her partner into action every 15-20 minutes or so for another round of leopard 'passion'. At the end of each 'session' they roar and he bites her on the back of the neck. She then swats him with her paw. Even with our guide's skill in getting us quite close, the light was shifting from low to very dark during our photo session, so using noise reduction was a great help in getting the result I wanted.
